Xiao Wang is a qualified lawyer in New York State and an Associate at Fietta LLP. He has advised or represented clients in investment treaty and commercial arbitration proceedings across multiple jurisdictions under ICC, ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules. Additionally, he has assisted clients in enforcement proceedings of arbitral awards and foreign judgments before US federal courts.
He has experience in advising sovereign States, State-owned entities and intergovernmental organisations on public international law matters including the law of the sea, international environmental law, human rights, and the ICJ advisory and contentious proceedings. Xiao also has assisted clients in investigation and sanction proceedings of multilateral development banks including the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. He contributed to the UNODC business integrity handbook for Belt & Road investment projects.
Prior to joining Fietta, he interned at the legal offices of the International Maritime organization and the International Seabed Authority, and worked at leading law firms in Beijing, London and New York.
He is a native mandarin speaker and obtained his LLB from University of International Relations and his LLM degrees from Beijing Normal University and Stanford Law School.
