British Institute of International & Comparative Law (BIICL) conference – On 30 April 2026, Oonagh Sands will participate in a roundtable discussion on “Countering ISDS Claims: Old Tensions and New Defences”. Annual Conference of the Cambridge International Law Journal – on 23 April 2026, Oonagh Sands will moderate a panel titled “International Environmental Law: Reimagining Environmental Governance in an Era of Planetary Crisis”. Stephen Fietta and Laura Rees-Evans have been ranked in the Lexology Index: Arbitration 2026, which recognises the leading arbitration practitioners worldwide based on feedback from clients and peers.  Stephen Fietta is identified as a Thought Leader, a distinction reserved for individuals who have performed exceptionally well, representing only around 25–30% of those listed.  Meanwhile, Laura Rees-Evans has been named an Arbitration Future Leader, an accolade limited to practitioners aged 45 and under who are identified as likely to be the pre-eminent names of the next generation.  Fietta’s Lexology rankings can be viewed here.

Legal Directory Rankings – Fietta LLP has again been ranked in the top tier for public international law by both the Chambers UK and Legal 500 directories.  The team was praised for its “exceptional knowledge of international law”, and  “strong work and client commitment”.

Stephen Fietta KC was again recognised as a leading practitioner, being identified as a Star Individual by Chambers and Partners and included in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame.  Laura Rees-Evans and Oonagh Sands were recognised as Legal 500 Next Generation Partners, and Laura was also ranked in Chambers and Partners. Senior Associate Miglena Angelova was recognised by The Legal 500 as a Leading Associate in Public International Law.

ITLOS Workshop for African Legal Advisers – On 11 September 2025, Stephen Fietta KC addressed an ITLOS Workshop for African Legal Advisers in Hamburg, Germany, on the delimitation of maritime boundaries. Read press release here

Investor-State dispute settlement (ISDS) and European Union law – On 20 August 2025, Stephen Fietta KC gave a lecture to the Kyiv Institute for European Integration about investor-State dispute settlement (ISDS) and European Union law.

International Law of the Sea Summer Academy 2025 – On 29 July 2025, Oonagh Sands will deliver a lecture titled “Dispute Resolution Mechanisms in the Law of the Sea” at the International Law of the Sea Summer Academy at Kadir Has University Faculty of Law, Istanbul. 28th Session of the Rhodes Academy on Oceans Law and Policy – on 30 June and 1 July 2025, Stephen Fietta KC gave presentations on “maritime boundary delimitation” and “activities in disputed areas” to attending State and other representatives from around the world at the annual Rhodes Academy in Greece.
