2022 Summer Academy of the International Foundation for the Law of the Sea (IFLOS): On 17 August 2022, Oonagh Sands presented at the 2022 Summer Academy of the IFLOS, which took place at the premises of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg. Oonagh addressed current challenges concerning the regime for the peaceful settlement of disputes under Part XV of UN Law of the Sea Convention. ICSID Review – Foreign Investment Law Journal article on Venezuela and the recognition of a government in international law: The ICSID Review has published an article co-authored by Laura Rees-Evans and Rhys Carvosso, former intern at Fietta, on “the Legal Consequences of and Approaches to the Question of Recognition of a Government of a State: Disputes involving Venezuela”. Co-chair of GAR Live: London 2021 Conference: On 9 November 2021, Stephen Fietta KC co-chaired the GAR Live: London 2021 conference, the first such event since 2019.  Panels of leading practitioners and experts discussed topical issues such as the practice of international arbitration after the COVID pandemic, the drive towards carbon-neutrality in international arbitration, the future of arbitration involving State parties in the UK and Europe and the enforceability of tribunal sanctions. Stephen commented: “It was a huge pleasure today to co-chair (with Hilary Heilbron KC) one of the first in-person international arbitration conferences since the pandemic. I would like to thank all of our speakers, attendees, organisers and sponsors for making the event such a great success.”
